Rainbow birthday party

On the day of Harlee's 4th birthday party, which was unicorns, she requested a rainbow party for her 5th birthday.  Also, on the day of her rainbow party she requested a dragon party for her 6th birthday, we will have to see if she still wants a dragon party 6 months from now.

A rainbow party was one of the most fun parties I have done so far.  There are so many great rainbow party ideas that it's truly hard to pick a reasonable amount of them.

Let the countdown begin!

The rainbow birthday party countdown.  And while I'm staring at the picture I just realized I need to make a ton of this for decoration.  More construction paper and staples please!

Carrot silverware napkin

So I have been meaning to do this post since Cheyenne's bunny birthday party, I have been putting it off since the pictures are so terrible.  My plan was to get more orange napkins and green plastic silverware and re-do it. Eight months later and I haven't even bothered to put it on my shopping list.

So here is the post, crappy pictures and all.  Maybe one day I'll re-do the pictures.  I wouldn't count on it though.

Step 1.

Step 2.

Step 3. Notice how one side of the pipe is way longer.

Step 4. Cut the long pipe cleaner and wrap it around the remaining bit.

 Tada!

Jungle theme baby shower

A few weekends ago I threw my best friend a baby shower.  King of the jungle style.  I loved it, the guests loved it, but most importantly she loved it!

The food table!

The kids table with little animal print goodie bags.

Cream cheese mints, banana shaped sugar cookies, apple gummie rings(because they are green!), jungle animal cookies, key lime green taffy, chips, and lots of runts...bananas only!!
I had to buy a cake from Smith's because I was moving two weeks after the shower and had already packed all my cake pans.  This cake looked great though!!

Lion foil balloon

Cherry Limeades!! These were just as good as sonic!

Decorated water!! zebra print duct tape!

Diaper cake I made.

Duct tape on tin cans for silverware holders, animal plates and banana runts as confetti. (I love that the elephant is upside down haha)  I also had animal cups for the kids over by the drinks.

More banana candy confetti.  I also wish I had found these cute little monkeys to add in with the bananas before the party!

Other items I used were:
animal print balloons
king of the jungle invitations
it's a boy banner
banana cookie cutter   I actually had to buy a whole set of fruit shaped cookie cutters just to get a banana, these were pretty weak as far as cookie cutters go but they got the job done.

Inside the kids animal print goodie bags I put:
animal print snap bracelet
animal print stationary set
animal stickers
jungle animal stuffed animal
and a bit of candy

That's it! Pretty easy and super cute!

Bunny birthday party

Wow. I can not believe time has flown by so quickly.  Here my 'baby' is two years old already.  Cheyenne isn't much of a baby anymore.  She runs around spouting full sentences, learning colors, numbers, and shapes, and trying to do everything her big sister  does.

The first thing I did was run to pinterest and found these bunny invitations, they turned out perfect, and really set the mood for the rest of the party.  I would post a picture but it would be like deja vu if you click on the link...and they have my address on them.

Decoration time!  Normally decorations are my favorite part but this time it was hard.  Most bunny stuff is also Eastery and this is not Easter! I was able to find most things I needed from Oriental Trading and a few key items from Amazon.  These bunny plates, cups and napkins were the only non Easter ones I found. Good thing they are perfect! And this bunny foil balloon is just the cutest thing ever.

The pinata was the hardest to find. It's sold out now which is a huge bummer. I think I bought the last one.

Birthday Girl!!

Another view of the cake with the carrot silverware and napkins.

Duck tape on water bottles = cute!

I love this cake.  It was VERY easy to do and I love the little bunny tail.

"Bunny juice" I didn't want to call it carrot juice because I wanted kids to drink it!  It's 2/3 tang and 1/3 strawberry lemonade.

This party turned out perfectly.  Most importantly Cheyenne loved it.
